Lied Jungle

Lied Jungle in Omaha, NE is the United States largest indoor jungle. It can be found at the Henry Doorly Zoo and is the home of monkeys, tapirs, macaws, pygmy hippos, and a few other non-native animals.

This is one of the things that you will find in my jungle theme when visiting Northeast Tropics & Winter Resort.  Take a look at the video and let me know what you think.

Knoebels

Knoebels Amusement Resort is a family-owned and operated amusement park, picnic grove, and campground in Elysburg, Pennsylvania. It has been America's largest free admission park for 89 years of operation.
Opened in 1926, the park has more than 60 rides, free admission, two wooden roller coasters, a 1913 carousel, and a haunted house ride that was featured on the Discovery Channel. The park and its rides have won awards from organizations such as Amusement Today, American Coaster Enthusiasts, and The International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions. In 2014, Travel Channel rated Knoebels number 2 out of their Top 10 Family Friendly Amusement Parks in the country.

Dutch Wonderland

Dutch Wonderland is a 48-acre amusement park just east of Lancaster, Pennsylvania, appealing primarily to families with small children. The park's theme is a "Kingdom for Kids." The entrance to the park has a stone imitation castle façade, which was built by Earl Clark, a potato farmer, before he opened the park in 1963.
The Clark family sold Dutch Wonderland in 2001 to Hershey Entertainment and Resorts Company. They also operate Wonderland Mini-Golf, and Old Mill Stream Campground at the same location and the Gift Shop atKitchen Kettle Village, in nearby Intercourse, Pennsylvania.
On November 12, 2010, Hershey Entertainment announced that they sold Dutch Wonderland to Palace Entertainment.

Outdoor Water Sports

As I said before in a previous post, outside the facility I would like to put in a man-made lake that will allow visitors, who enjoy water sports, to have fun without needing a boat. Water skiers and wake boarders will be able to use an overhead cable system to tow themselves through the water.

If this sounds cool to you, check out this place in Cincinnati, Ohio that opened in 2009. ~ Wake Nation

Indoor Water Parks

The U.S. has a lot of different indoor parks to choose from, but none that have a Tropical Jungle theme like I hope to incorporate.

Indoor Skiing

Here is a link to a place (Indoor Ski USA) that is using some of the new technology for those who want to escape the cold, wet Winters. It's kind of neat, but I'd still prefer a soft blanket of snow to fall into; rather than get a rug-burn.

Let me know what you would rather see. Either a facility that has long slopes, with jumps, boxes and rails, or slopes that are pretty much giant treadmills.

Tropical Jungle

If you have never been to the rainforest,  you will be able to get that chance here.

You will be able to:
- Walk down paths that take you into an environment filled with lush tropical growth.
- Cross over streams filled with a variety of tropical fish.
- Take a canopy walk on suspended rope bridges or zip line from one end to the other.
- See some non-native animals. (Monkeys,  birds, snakes, turtles.)

The entire area will be kept inside of a glass domed enclosure, inside the main compound,  where temperatures and humidity will be that of its natural state. Three times a day, it will "rain" inside the enclosure so that visitors can get a real world experience as if they were actually walking through the true rainforest.

Tropical Islands, Germany

This is a little video of the resort that I am basing my idea on; Tropical Islands. (I have a picture of it in my "For The Summer People" post.)  If you live in Northeast U.S., and would like to see something like this come to the region, then please share my site and help me get the word out.

My Dream.

My idea is to build a resort that has both a tropical theme and a winter theme so that everyone can enjoy themselves year round. Skiers can enjoy 365 days of fresh snow year round, and those that would like to get to the tropics, but can't afford the expense or don't want to travel too far, can enjoy a lush rainforest with flowing streams and waterfalls, a dip in one of 2 water themed areas (a beach or tropical lagoon), zip line through the jungle canopy,  rock climbing on one of the rock walls, or have fun on the water slides. Whatever you pick, you would most likely be able to find it here.

I will also like to create an area, located around the resort, with homes that people can buy and rent out for a week, month, or year. Along with that there will be a 3 foot deep pond outside with hydraulic tow lines for those of you who enjoy wake boarding, or water skiing.

However, as I said in my first post, this is just a dream I have for now, but hopefully with the right help and enough people who would like to see my dream come to life I can get started with making it a reality.

For the Winter People.

Here is what I want to try and do for you.

Ski Dubai is the largest indoor ski resort in the world.

For the Summer People.

Lets take a look into the place that I got my idea; Tropical Island Resort.

Tropical Islands Resort is a theme park located in Krausnick, Germany, just south of Berlin. Located in the once CargoLifter, also known as the Aerium, airship hanger, is the biggest free-standing hall in the world. (194 million ft³)

Why I'm here.

Hello all!  Before I introduce myself, let me ask you just a few quick questions.

 - Do you live in the Northeastern U.S.?
 - Are you tired of the long winters and short summers?
 - If you are a winter buff, do you want more time for hitting the slopes?
 - Do you find yourself trying to escape from it all but can't due to work, family, or finances?

If you have answered "YES" to all of these questions; then you are in the right spot.

My name if Chad and I am here to try and propose an idea that I have on trying to bring the "winter tropics" and the "summer time winter slopes" to you, and all in one place.
